Vice captain Robbie Fowler was born to score goals and is widely recognised as one of the best finishers in Europe. Last season was something of a bleak one for Fowler with injuries ravaging a campaign that started so well. He scored in the opening day win at Sheffield Wednesday and followed that up with a magical strike in the 2-0 Anfield victory against Arsenal. He then managed only a handful of appearances before returning for the final month of the season and earning a call-up to Kevin Keegan's England Euro 2000 squad - although he did not feature in the tournament.
